Fun, portable, cool
The Theremini is fun, portable and cool. It is a real theremin and offers a real theremin mode. It has pitch correction which can help beginners from sounding like a dying cat being shaken frantically. My musical background helps me find notes very easily as my ear is trained. A Versatile Instrument
I have to preface remarks by saying I am a potential Theremin player; not yet an actual player. The Theremini looks like it will be the perfect learning tool in that regard. A fast learning curve
This is a very versatile instrument. I had not had it two weeks yet when I used it to premiere a new work which I wrote, featuring particular settings of the instrument and my strengths as a new user of it. The premiere was very successful, and I anticipate being inspired to create more original music on it as I get more familiar and proficient. A word to the wise, however: note that outputs are line-level and it will not go directly into an instrument amplifier. Get the necessary transformers up-front if you plan to plug into an amp on location.

Good value in a kit - packaging for shipping was ridiculous
This is a good value for someone beginning to explore the theremin. Youll almost certainly want some patch cords to go into a proper sound system. The 2 built-in speaker is only suitable for confirming operation. This item was shipped to me in 4 different boxes, even though the entire set could have fit easily into the outer shipping box for the Theremini. That little stand adapter, for instance, came in tiny ziploc bag a 12x12x3 box, 99% filled with air pillows. What a completely wasteful and ridiculous shipping choice!

Most fun you can have without touch!
Another quality moog instrument. The choice of voices adds to the fun and the capability to choose scale, root note and amount of pitch correction makes it playable out of the box, and allows the player to hone their technique without frustration. Internal speaker makes it fun and available to play without much set up. It could have been housed in a simple box, but instead it is in a spaceship housing that is theremin appropriate. I ordered mine in the winter after seeing reviews from NAMM, and it's been worth the wait.

Nice Startup Bundle
The patch cord is good quality, but at 6' is really too short. Also would be better to have the version of the cable with a 90 degree connector at the instrument end. The stand and adapter do work, but are a bit light weight and do not firmly mount the instrument, allowing it to spin if bumped. The Theremini is a much better choice for beginners to start learning with than a full theremin due to the adjustable pitch correction. The instrument is a stereo output device, but the amp (and cable) reduce it to mono.

Best value on the web
Other sites were selling this combo for about $75 more. It arrived in great shape. I purchased this for my wife, who is in love with it. She is just now learning how to play it. To try and play it as a standard instrument (in tune) makes it very difficult to learn. She is not so much about that as just getting lost in the sound and the effects. 32 different presets and the ability to choose a pitch corrected mode make it very flexible.

Great product, even better service
I ordered the performance package for the Moog Theremini, which includes a gig bag, stand and Moog amp on the phone, and everything was in stock except the amp (backordered). But when the (four) packages arrived, the amp was there, too! As a result I was able to perform with new instrument the very next weekend. Moog packed this product with so many features that it's like playing a complex synthesizer hands-free!

not only did it come early, it was also well packaged and what a fantastic product! A dream come true no doubt to create music without touching an instrument. A creative challenge and an inspiration to those intimidated by the idea of making music. Another great B&H experience which encourages me to continue further business with them. Fantastical
Killer sounds and amazing options. You can instantly create wild, otherwordly sounds. MIDI allows you too control, embellish other tones. CV gives you access to sound and you can download the editor to save tones on your PC/MAC. It takes a bit of practice to really milk melodies but w/pitch correction and scale modes - you can still be creating in a flash.

Great Gift
I bought this for my friend because we saw it on a show and thought it was great. It seemed like a great way to relax. It was ready to use right out of the box!! I would recommend this to anyone. Even as a beginner, my friend was able to enjoy himself. Yes, it will require some practice, but well worth it.

Great fun instrument and kit.
Just playing with the theremin for the first time. The bag, stand and stand adapter are all very useful except i feel that the theremin works better on the ground without any metallic interference anyway. Great value for what I paid. Hope to use the theremini in scoring films and street performing.

Great instrument. Great package. Best deal I found.
There are some awesome sounds that can be created with this instrument. I even laid a few tracks over some Hip Hop beats and it sounded great. Like any instrument, it takes a bit of practice to get some good sounds out of it. You can play simple songs with it too.

More fun than a barrel full of theremonkeys!
This is a great instrument. The autopitch makes it much easier to adapt to than the classic theremin but it can be used in that mode as well. It's also really nice to look at with those clean curves.

Great theremin for a beginner
I really like the Theremini. I've had it for a couple of weeks and use it to improvise along with rhythms and melodies that I compose. The different synth sounds it can make are an added extra.
